Job Title: Director of Case Management

Location: San Antonio, TX

Reports To: Executive Director

Job Type: Full-Time

Background:
Thrive Youth Center was established as a 501(c)(3) organization in February of 2015 in San Antonio, Texas, at a time when no other LGBTQ+ specific homeless shelter existed in Texas. Today, we provide 60% of LGBTQ+ emergency shelter beds in the state, have created a housing program allowing LGBTQ+ young adults to be housed in their own apartments with assistance and wraparound services for a year, provide life skills training, have benefits assistance readily available to our clients, and have a staff of case managers diligently helping to connect young adults with the resources they need to obtain education, employment, mental health care, sexual and reproductive health care, and assist them as they move toward exiting homelessness and finding stability in their lives.

Thrive’s mission to provide LGBTQ+ homeless young adults with a safe and supportive environment to facilitate their empowerment toward transforming their lives, and our vision to create an equitable community where all LGBTQ+ young adults can flourish remains central to what we do every day. Remaining visible as a resource, advocate, and safe place for young adults in a state where reproductive rights, the rights of transgender individuals, and an act as simple as discussing diversity, equity, and inclusion can incite hostility and violence is why we continue to do the work that we do, showing our community and our state that we exist, and that the clients we serve exist and deserve the opportunity to live life as their authentic selves.
